Amiina is a band from Reykjavik, Iceland, that has been together in various forms and guises since the late 1990s.

Amiina is a band from Reykjavik, Iceland, that has been together in various forms and guises since the late 1990s. In 2004 they started working on their first release, the EP AnimaminA, that they self-released in December that same year. In May 2005 the EP was licenced to US label The Worker''''s Institute, and in Australia and New Zealand label Speak''''n Spell. Since 2005 they have been working on a full-length album as well as touring around the world with fellow Icelandic band Sigur Rós, both as support band and providing strings and other bits in the Sigur Rós set. They are expecting an early October release of their new single Seoul, and a full-length album release in January 2007.
