Thermal Beach in Reykjavik

In Iceland the sea is normally far too cold to tempt swimmers, but at Nautholsvik a thermal beach has been created, where natural hot water flows out into the sea, and you can frolic in the waves as if you
were in the Mediterranean!

A beach of golden sand has been made (Icelandic sand is usually black, which is less picturesque for a bathing beach), and by the beach a “pool” has been enclosed, where the water temperature s about
20ºC. Refreshments and various services are available at the beach.

The geothermal beach is open daily 10:00 to 20:00 in the summer months. Tel. 011 354 551 6630.
