IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD OF ELM DESIGN - YOU WILL!
CPH VISION, 9.-12. FEBRUARY, STAND 01-2
ELM DESIGN is proud to be part of the CPH Vision exhibition
for the
first time, marking the launch of the collection in the Nordic
Countries.
ELM DESIGN is a clothing company that has been making waves
with its
imaginative garments inspired by Iceland’s unique culture,
art, and
architecture. The design is Icelandic, the production is Peruvian
and the raw material is sourced throughout the world.
ELM design retails in over 100 high end boutiques in the
USA and is
quickly making inroads into the European and Japanese markets,
selling the summer 2006 collection to 20 boutiques in Italy,
France,
Switzerland and Tokyo. This season ELM is launching its collection
in the Nordic Countries. To date the only presence in the
Nordic
Region is the company’s own boutique in Reykjavik, Iceland,
where
Nordic visitors to Iceland are loyal customers.
ELM Design was originally founded seven years ago as a knitwear
company. ELM quickly grew beyond pure knitwear and the company
has gone from strength to strength ever since. ELM has a loyal
following among women who demand comfortable, beautiful and
striking clothing.
The three women behind ELM Design are Erna-Lísbet-Matthildur.
They
arranged their first initials to form the company’s
brand name. Each
woman
comes from a different art and design background; however,
they founded the company through their shared philosophy,
that to design for women you need to understand women. Hence
ELM has since its inception stuck to the slogan: “DESIGNED
BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN.”
AUTUMN WINTER 2006LACE AND GRACE
For winter 2006 ELM uses old style lace and nostalgic colours
to
inject a cool vintage feel to its striking modern shapes.
The
overall effect is an ultra feminine vintage cool. Each piece
is
designed with the feminine form in mind and as always shows
an in-
depth understanding and respect for the differing body shapes
of
women. The pure lines emphasize the softness of the female
form,
caressing it like a second skin.
The Autumn Winter Collection comprises a total of 80 pieces
with a
further injection of a holiday line, to be sold as of May
2006.
