Laugar
is a five-star health spa resort, which opened in
January 2004. It is situated in Laugardalur Valley
- a beautiful leisure area blessed with hot
springs, and featuring a botanical garden, family
zoo and activity park. Laugar is an 18,000m²
health and swimming resort, with facilities that include
a full-sized outdoor and indoor pool, one of the largest
gyms in Europe, an amazing Spa, a beauty and massage
clinic, restaurant, hairdressing salon and sports
shop.
The Spa
In Laugar Spa you enter an aquatic haven where you
can indulge both body and soul. Six different saunas
and steam rooms are available, each one with a different
theme: you can experience sounds of nature, a starry
night sky and enjoy different aromas. Soothe tired
limbs in a Thalasso therapy Jacuzzi, rejuvenate tired
feet in a special footbath, switch between hot and
cold showers in special cubicles or enjoy delicious
food and drink in one of the restaurants on the premises.
In soothing surroundings, body and soul can be restored
in an oasis of peach and warmth.
The six-meter-wide waterfall is a unique design by
Sigurður Guðmundsson, one of Iceland’s
most prominent artists. His artwork and sculptures
in smooth granite make the entire spa-experience aesthetically
perfect. In between beauty and massage treatments,
chill out in the relaxation room, which features a
central fireplace - just close your eyes and
forget the outside world.
Gym
The bright and spacious gym contains the best in
state-of-the-art fitness equipment. The accent is
on variety and quality; here you will find something
for the whole family. All gym staff is professionally
qualified.
Children’s paradise
In children’s paradise, there is a playroom,
junior gym and cinema so that children can enjoy themselves
while the parents work out or relax in the Spa.
All guests at Laugar Spa have free access to the
Laugardalur Swimming Pools and World Class gym, with
a complementary loan of a towel and bathrobe.
