Baðhúsið
is a ladies-only health spa, opened in 1994 by founder
Linda Pétursdóttir, a former Miss Iceland
and Miss World. Linda got the idea for Baðhúsið
when traveling the world as the reigning Miss World.
She envisioned a nurturing and supportive environment
where women exclusively could come and rejuvenate
their body, mind and soul in a peaceful atmosphere
- a place where they could come to nurture their
well-being with help and guidance from trained professionals,
or simply take some time off and enjoy the company’s
relaxation programs.
It was to be a place to get away from the daily grind,
whether it be by way of a soothing scented oil massage,
a luxurious facial treatment or by allowing all of
the day’s stress to melt away in a quiet, hot
Jacuzzi. The surroundings would be both beautiful
and feminine, with women in white robes enjoying massages,
beauty treatments, the steam room or the so-called
“rest-nest” where they are surrounded
by beautiful plants, candle light, soothing music,
benches for resting tired bones and magazines to browse
through between treatments.
Today, Baðhúsið is in its 9th year
of operation and serves well over a thousand women
per day at Brautarholt 20, where they can enjoy all
the services Linda originally envisioned, and more.
Baðhúsið is and will always be a health
spa for ladies only.

can choose to work out in our fully equipped gym under
the supervision of highly trained professionals, participate
in one of our many exciting classes rated at high
or low intensity, for example kickboxing or yoga;
Or just simply by indulging in a luxurious massage,
and being pampered by our excellent therapists in
a wonderful beauty treatment. In a quiet and peaceful
environment by our Jacuzzi, surrounded by the resting
nest and the waterfall’s relaxing stream, you
can be sure your stress and anxiety of everyday life
will melt away.

About Sporthúsið
Sporthúsið is a new, fully equipped fitness
center in Kópavogur, only 15 minutes’
drive from downtown Reykjavik. Sporthúsið
began its operations on 24 August 2002 as the largest
Gym in Scandinavia. We offer a wide range of services
in the 6000m2 facilities - you are certain to find
something that suits you.
At Sporthúsið there is a large gym and
a wide range of group exercise classes. There is a
spinning room with 20 bikes, as well as the well-equipped
gym with high-quality weights and equipment from Technogym’s
new Selection line, 40 treadmills, exercycles, pedalling
machines, steppers and more. In addition, there is
a stretching room, two squash courts, an 80m2 basketball
court, a football court with FIFA-certified artificial
grass and tennis courts. Then there is the golf exercise
facility with two simulation stations, a putting area,
teachers’ facilities and a driving range, as
well as a boxing ring, child-care facilities, a snack
bar, a clothing shop, sun beds, secure changing room
facilities, a hot Jacuzzi, a steam room and of course
a Scandinavian-type sauna.
