May 18- 23 treat yourself to Icelandic delights by one of Europe’s and Iceland’s most celebrated Master Chef, Siggi Hall. Joining Siggi at three Bay Area restaurants is Iceland’s leading Jazz guitarist Bjorn Thoroddsen. Ghostigital, one of Iceland’s hippest modern-sound bands, rocks the house at Café Du Nord on Friday night, May 19. And on Monday, May 23 the Icelandic Film Festival at the Castro Theatre in cooperation with SOMA magazine highlights the hottest films and filmmakers from Iceland including academy award nominated film short “The Last Farm” and the critically acclaimed music documentary “Screaming Masterpiece”. **Screaming Masterpiece delves into the Icelandic music scene and uncovers a thriving community of artists from all genres of music. Screaming Masterpiece asks the question: why is the small Icelandic community is so music mad? Is it the isolation or 'the long nights with nothing to do but drink' as is implied? With interviews with native musicians from Björk, Sigur Rós and Múm, to stories of the teenage band Nilfisk who end up opening for the Foo Fighters when they visit the island. A captivating documentary about the contemporary music scene in this unique island culture.**

** Is he the village Idiot or a genius in disguise? 17 year old Nói drifts through life on a remote fjord in the north of Iceland. In winter, the fjord is cut off from the outside world and Only a natural disaster will shatter Noi's universe and offer him a window into a better world.**
