NEW Reykjavik Real Food Festival September 14-18
Reykjavík Real Food Festival is a celebration of Icelandic food and food culture and will be held for the first time in Reykjavík this fall. The festival takes place from the 14. - 18. September and will host a range of events that will rock your taste buds. Take part in the festival and you will experience Icelandic cuisine made from the freshest harvest straight from the farm. Visitors will be able to feast on special festival menus at restaurants across Reykjavík, meet farmers at the market and experience Icelandic culture through various events and happenings.
Icelandic food is fresh and generally grown with very little or no pesticides or added chemicals. Our fish is caught at sea and served at restaurants the same day, our sheep roam free in the mountains and feed on wild vegetation, our vegetables are grown in greenhouses lit up by renewable energy and our cows, well they eat grass. All this would mean nothing if we did not have an outstanding army of ambitious chefs and caterers that deliver all the different flavors of Icelandic nature to your plate.
Reykjavik boasts dozens of fine restaurants, bars, cafés, bistros, sandwich shops, soup bars and coffee houses that satisfy just about every conceivable taste in breakfast, lunch or dinner. Vegans and vegetarians are also well catered for, as are fans of traditional Icelandic food with Reykjavik’s famous fish and seafood restaurants being particularly popular.
